CUET UG 2025 Exam: The Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) 2025, a crucial gateway to undergraduate courses in central and state universities, witnessed major disruptions on May 26 due to a widespread technical issue. Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the examination- scheduled to run from May 13 to June 3 was delayed at multiple centres across the country, leaving candidates and parents anxious and frustrated.

CUET UG 2025 Exam: Technical Glitch Triggers Delays at Entry

Candidates were left stranded outside exam centres beyond their reporting times due to server-related issues. Notices pasted at several centres cited “technical glitches” as the cause, stating, “There will be an undefined delay in entry. Once the issue is resolved, all candidates will be permitted to enter. It’s a pan-India issue. Your cooperation is highly essential.”

At the Pataliputra centre in Patna, large crowds of students and guardians gathered before 7:00 AM after hearing about the delay. Rana Pratap Singh, a parent, reported that the situation eventually calmed once the issue was resolved and entry was allowed.

Neelam Kumari, another parent, shared a similar experience at the Ion Digital Zone in Azara, Guwahati. She and her daughter arrived at 7:45 AM but were only allowed inside after 9:30 AM. A security guard had informed them that the delay was due to technical issues.

Reports Surface from Across India

Complaints of disorganized management flooded social media as affected candidates voiced their grievances. In Ayodhya, a candidate posted on X that no students had been allowed to enter even by 8:25 AM due to server downtime, calling it the “worst management” by the NTA.

In Delhi, a professor flagged a delay at the Pawan Ganga Education Centre, while a candidate in Kanpur raised concerns over the lack of transparency, noting that no roll number list had been displayed even the previous day. Similarly, at an exam centre in Faridabad (Vidya Mansion behind TCS Ajronda Chowk), candidates were barred entry due to unspecified technical problems.

A source associated with Jawaharlal Nehru University confirmed similar disruptions in Patna, citing a pan-India server failure and demanding clarification from NTA.

NTA Silent, Centre Staff Offer Clarification

Although the NTA did not issue any official statement, insiders at exam centres confirmed that server-related issues caused the delay. One exam centre manager noted that the problem originated from NTA’s central servers.

Suryoday Singh, director of AIIT and a management institute in Prayagraj, confirmed the glitch affected only the entry process and not the examination itself.

An NTA-appointed observer at a Bihar centre described the problem as a “nationwide technical error” but assured that it was resolved in time to proceed with the exam.

Final Words: CUET UG 2025 Exam
